Shine Forest School
What is Forest School?
Forest School is a hands on playful and engaging child led educational approach in a woodland or natural setting which supports the development of a relationship between the learner and the natural world.
Forest School aims to promote the holistic development of all those involved, fostering resilient, confident, independent and creative learners. It uses a range of learner-centred processes to create a community for development and learning. Outdoor learning takes place on a regular basis and offers learners the opportunity to take supported risks appropriate to the environment and to themselves. It compliments learning in the classroom and can be transferred.
Forest School is run by Certified Forest School Leader practitioner and in our case is also an Accredited Play Therapist who continuously maintains and develop their professional practice. There must be a high ratio of leaders to learners, everyone must be suitably dressed for the weather/activities and a risk/benefit approach to health and safety is followed by all.
